Dual degree program interview tomorrow
Since I’ve been in pharmacy school, I’ve been missing the research side of things. So, I decided to apply for the PharmD/MS program, which is a ton of extra work, but if it’s work I enjoy, it shouldn’t be a problem. In any case, this post is sort of a “hail mary” for advice. I have an interview tomorrow with the committee that oversees the program. This is the first time they’ve done interviews, and there are only 2 candidates (me and another person from our sister campus), but they have room for 5 (so there’s not really any competition–except myself). I’ve been told the interview isn’t formal, but they want to make sure I know what I’m getting into and that I’m capable of “running the gauntlet” so to speak.
In any case, if anyone in any field of scientific research reads this and has some advice, I’d appreciate it. What do you enjoy about doing research? What mistakes did you make? What were some good career choices and have you made any blunders?
They’ve said this isn’t formal, but it could potentially be a deal breaker. I’m freakin’ nervous (and why shouldn’t I be? The interview is going to be teleconferenced to our sister campus so I’ll be in front of a committee totalling about 7 PhD’s… yikes)!
Advice?
